About Suma
須磨 素古人
My name is Scott Suma. I was born in the middle of the last century and have had an extremely interesting life with many incarnations. I am a spouse, father, son, teacher, coach, and friend. I’m extremely fortunate. I have won a thousand lotteries.
As a 7th grade World Geography teacher I am privileged to educate young people. We journey together around the globe learning about diverse people and their cultures. My students are preparing to become aware and responsible citizens of our world. They inspire me.
Throughout my life I have written poetry. Most of my poems are located on faded paper in distant places. Others exist on unidentified floppy disks. Throughout the year I will attempt to retrieve as many poems as possible and make them available for whomever might want to read them. Writing poems requires me to be fully present. It helps me whittle away at reality to see what I can find. Enjoy the poems and write your own.
